Darbydale Sam Cooke - Floyd
12th November 2010
Sadly Floyd passed away in the night, leaving Peter and Rufus with years of treasured memories of the fantastic times they have all shared together
Floyd was so special in many ways, not particularly interested in the working aspects a Newfoundland normally excels in, but he was such a gentle loving companion who always greeted you with a happy expression. Floyd still always thoroughly enjoyed his training sessions, especially as Rufus came in and went out into the water Floyds mission was to catch him by the tale! Despite his lack of interest Floyd passed Section B Water and Level 2 draught and was often worked in a brace alongside his uncle Ru
Some of the funniest memories our members have are of Floyd; the time he was a PAT dog at the world fire-fighters games where he seemed to get his head lost in every passing woman’s chest, looking up with stars in his eyes and drool to his elbows. The time he was walking around Yarrow Valley and Rufus was told NO! When he wanted to enter the icy waters and after Rufus resisting all the way around the lake Floyd bumbled over to him and pushed him in!
Such a gentle sole with a heart of gold, he will be sadly missed by Peter and Rufus along with all the members and friends they have met along the way
Goodnight God Bless Bumble xx

Sandbears Ziggy
Monday 12th July 2010
It is a sad day today…..Littly Ziggy at just 16 weeks old has left us all
After a battle over the last four days with an unexpected illness, Ziggy is in the arms of the Angels.
Everyone at Lancashire Rescue Bears is devastated to hear of the sad and sudden departure of such a sweet, beautiful and talented puppy.
Ziggy joined us just a few weeks ago along with her big sister Lilly Bear and family:  Rae, Neil, Alana, Fern, Bryony & Carys Evans.  In such a short space of time the family have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into the fun and events we have held and brought the girls to swim with us each week.
Ziggy had huge confidence in the water, more than any Newfoundland we have seen her age.
Our thoughts are with Rae, Neil & the family at such a sad time
Good Night God Bless Little one xxx
Just this side of heaven is a beautiful place called "The Rainbow Bridge".
When a beloved pet dies, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.
It is a land of meadows, hills and colourful
valleys with lush green grass.
There is always plenty of food, water and sunshine
and our little friends are warm and comfortable.
There all the animals who had been ill and old
are young again, restored to health and vigour.
Those who have been hurt or maimed are made whole and strong.
The animals play all day and are happy and content
but there is one thing missing.
They each miss someone who they left behind.
Someone very special who loved and cared for them on earth.
Then the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The bright eyes are intent and the body quivers with excitement.
Suddenly that one runs away from the group
flying over the green grass, running faster and faster.
You have been spotted.
And when you and your special friend meet again,
you take them in your arms and embrace.
Happy kisses rain upon your face. Your hands caress your beloved friend.
You look once more into the trusting eyes of your faithful pet.
And then together you cross over "The Rainbow Bridge" into heaven
..... Never to be separated again.
