Bo Peep is one of the nicest, most dog friendly places I've been yet. It is set in the middle of farmland in the heart of Oxfordshire and it's idyllic setting is not only beautiful but perfect for walking your dog. The corn fields are like a scene from the movie "Signs" but unfortunately, there was no sign of Mel Gibson anywhere, much to my disappointment. However, we did have Jules, Les, Phil and Chris.
On our arrival on Friday evening, we were met with a warm smile and a cold beer, not to mention the great home made Lancashire Hotpot made by Jude and a fab steak pie made by Phil, both of which were yummy. We sat outside and ate as it was a beautiful evening and talked about.....yeah, you guessed it, Newfs and the pending tests as we enjoyed a few drinks together and all retired at around 11.30pm.
Saturday was met by breakfast cooked by Jackie, who is a vegetarian and doesn't even eat sausage and bacon, hell I'd have made everyone eat muesli if that were me :0). Alison washed up as usual, you can't get near the sink when she's around. She is the don of pot washing. After breakfast it was time to start the tests. Phil & Henry were entering their first level 2 and Phil was a little nervous. Giddy Henry didn't want to do his down stay but was great at everything else. Munch passed his level 1 and the seasoned pro's Yogi & Murphy passed their level 4's and a very nearly pass for Marley on level 2.
Jeli Beli Cheeky Lady lounged around like the queen while Pluto and PaddyPants were planning their escape. Pluto just kept chewing Paddys tether, I'm sure he put Pluto up to it. After the tests were over and a good day was had by all, we relaxed with the gang and were once again fed by the ever giving Jude with her home made Lasagne, magnifique!! After a few nightcaps, we all had an early night to be ready for Sundays tests.
Sunday morning and another breakfast courtesy of Jude, the tests begin. Paddy and I were in for our first level 2 and although I was confidant he would do his down stay, I wasn't sure about the rest but the boy did good. Missy and Julian were next up for their first attempt at level 2 followed by Phil and Henry's second attempt. A pass for Paddy & Missy and an oh so close for Henry. Well done to Yogi and Murphy on passing their level 3's.
After the tests were over, we entered a few of the gang in to the just for fun ring craft show. Pluto in the puppy section, Missy in the bitches ( She-devil ) section, PaddyPoo & YogiBear in the dogs section and the King and Queen Ruben and Jeli in the veterans. Followed by a full Sunday roast round at the Moulsdales. It's doesn't get much better than this.....but it did......sticky toffee pudding and custard.
PaddyPants finally made his escape as Mick Riley came round to say goodbye and Paddy was stopped by running straight into Micks goolies. Thankfully, Mick was OK and Paddys plan was foiled and we enjoyed a few well earned drinks to celebrate accompanied by Ozzybear.
Thanks to everyone who made the weekend special.
